Hanna de la Motte holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Chalmers University of Technology. Her doctorate studies were performed within the WooDi-project (The Wood Based Diaper) to develop a more sustainable diaper. She divides her time between Chalmers and SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden, where her current research areas are cellulose dissolution, forest textile development and textile recycling. Besides her position as leader for the Reuse, Recycling and End-of-life issues project within in Mistra Future Fashion program, she is involved in several Swedish textile related projects, such as the CelluNova project, The ForTex project (Forest Textiles) and the RMT-project (Reactive Pulp for Textiles). Since 2014, she is also a post-doc research fellow at University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, working on better oxidation techniques and novel applications for cellulose based materials, such as post-consumer cotton and wood-pulp.
